Resident applications are currently closed and will reopen next Spring.

The Resident application includes several components: two essay prompts, a resume request, and a college transcript request (either official or unofficial). If accepted, GVSU will require an official transcript.

Essay prompts:

• What experiences - personal, professional, and/or educational - have shaped your motivation to pursue a teaching career in West Michigan? Please address your interest in the content and grade level to which you are applying.
• Successful teachers are lifelong learners. They look for ways to learn and grow from feedback, failure, setbacks, and challenges. Please share an example of a time in which you experienced a failure or faced a significant setback. How did you approach the situation and what did you learn from it?

Applications are reviewed by the team, and qualified finalists will be contacted to proceed in the selection process.
