Become a Mentor Teacher

Share your expertise and passion for teaching as a West Michigan Teacher Collaborative Mentor Teacher. Help position future educators, your future colleagues, for long-term success in the classroom as you guide and support a WMTC Pre-Resident.  

Mentor teachers must - 

• Be currently certified and teaching full time in a public school district in Kent, Muskegon or Ottawa Area ISD
• Have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
• Be documented consistently as effective or highly effective in teacher/school counselor evaluation ratings
• Have an expressed interest in being a school-based clinical instructor
• Be endorsed by a building administrator as demonstrating the qualities of an effective role model
